我們可以將熒光素酶(luciferase)基因,如:螢火蟲熒光素酶,整合到細胞或動物 DNA 中以表達熒光素酶,在ATP、鎂離子和氧氣存在的條件下,外源給予底物熒光素(luciferin),熒光素酶催化底物氧化反應(yīng)產(chǎn)生發(fā)射光。只有活細胞內(nèi)才會產(chǎn)生發(fā)光現(xiàn)象,且光的強度與標(biāo)記細胞的數(shù)目成正比。
